UlC has been set to provide language training and translation services. It does so flexibly in accordance with the needs of the clients. Its activities are informed by relevant research in linguistics, second language acquisition, educational technology and translating methods.

ULC stimulates self-learning and lifelong learning and helps build up careers. Our centre advises and assists in the process of language learning appropriate to the needs of professionals.

ULC promotes:

- Individual multilingualism
- Minor languages or less widely-used languages (such as Serbian, Czech, Polish, Turkish, Greek, Romanian, etc.) as a means to do business successfully.
- Innovations in teaching. – e.g.: e-learning, telephone courses. ULC takes a proactive role in the application of new technology in the process of language learning.
- Creation of language resources such as dictionaries, thesauri, terminological glossaries
